The Whiteface Lodge Resort and Spa is patterned after the famous Adirondack Great Camp style of architecture, with soaring wooden beams and huge window walls looking out over the mountains. Whiteface Lodge has somehow managed to capture an atmosphere of both rustic charm and elegant luxury at the same time. With 1, 2, or 3 bedroom suites, this Lake Placid resort has comfort and luxury in every corner.

The Lake Placid Lodge is another resort that was built in the Adirondack Great Camp style. The main lodge building was the victim of a devastating fire in December of 2005, but you wouldn't know it by looking. The cabins are available for guests, and lack none of the luxury and elegance you'd expect from a rustic resort. The Lodge is currently using some of the larger cabins for its restaurant, bar, etc, which seems to work quite well. They've broken ground on their new main lodge building, which will be completed some time next year. The Lake Placid Lodge has received numerous awards and accolades, and I'm sure it will continue its award-winning history when it's totally rebuilt.
