Winter Fun and History at the Same Time!
Skating is a winter activity that people at all stages of life can enjoy. And Lake Placid figure skating is at the top of the list for skaters, whether you're out there just for some winter fun or are looking for serious, Olympic caliber training. It's such an awesome place to be in the winter - the atmosphere and scenery just can't be beat!
Lake Placid has a rich skating history, becoming known worldwide during the 1932 Winter Olympics. Since then, skating has become wildly popular as a competitive event as well as entertainment. The historic Olympic village offers every type of skating imaginable - everything from public skating all year-round (at the famous Jack Shea Olympic Rink) to skating camps for children and adults (also year-round) to the famed Smuckers' Stars on Ice show featuring Olympic athletes and World Championship skaters. So no matter what your skating pleasure might be, Lake Placid figure skating has you covered!

Skating Schools and Camps
Lake Placid figure skating includes all caliber of training, no matter what your aspirations might be. There are training camps for both children and adults all year long, varying in length. The coaching staff includes 16 professionals that are qualified to teach all levels, whether you just want to be able to complete a circuit without falling (that would be my level!) or are in serious Olympic training. If you're interested in checking out any of these camps or just finding out what's available, here is the contact information:

Lake Placid Ice Skates
If you don't have skates yet, why not try a pair of Lake Placid ice skates? Yes, there's even a brand of figure skates named after this Olympic village - how cool is that! They're known for their balance, superior comfort and durability. As is often the case, Amazon has some pretty sweet deals on these skates - some of the best prices I've seen so far. Check them out.
