	Happy Childhood Memories by Kathleen (Port Charlotte, FL) When I was a child, my parents used to take us to Vermont for vacation. One, very memorable year, we visited Whiteface Mountain. We did climb up the mountain, since we were campers and hikers. The thing I remember the most was the fact that the elevator made it possible for people who normally could not climb a mountain to get to the top. We did take the elevator back down the mountain. Since this was in the late 1970's, it was amazing to us that there was an elevator built into the middle of this mountain.
