Adirondack Family Hiking

I went hiking in the Adirondack in 2007 with my eleven year old son, Jamie, my fourteen year old daughter, Emily and my wife Cassandra. We do a lot of hiking as a family and always find that the experience bonds us together closer as a family.

We are lucky enough to have hiked on four continents from the US to India to Australia and Europe. We have climbed Mont Blanc in Italy and visited the Taj Mahal. Despite being well traveled and having a huge array of different hiking experiences I can truly say that nothing prepared us for the beauty and majesty of our Adirondack adventure.

The thing that will always stick in my mind about this trip was the clarity of the light and the crisp contrast of the colors. There is something about the crisp air, the clear water and verdant ground that is just breathtaking. The only advice I would have for others is to prepare for different weathers. None of our experiences were extreme but I have no doubt that different weathers could whip up in an area like this. Truly memorable.
